  • The cut surface of the kidney shows several damaged pyramids and the renal parenchyma which is replaced by yellow-white friable substance (caseous necrosis).
  • The process started in the outer medulla and has advanced to the papillae, two of which are with ulcerative changes.
  • This is a hematogenous tuberculosis with extra-pulmonary localization.
