Micronodular cirrhosis of the liver

  • The fibrous capsule of liver is slightly thickened, opaque, with decreased translucency.
  • Its surface is uneven, strewn with uniform knots.
  • The cut surface is diffusely  covered with pale yellow  nodules the size of a ‘lentil‘ to ‘pea’.
  • They stand out above the hepatic parenchyma, surrounded by connective tissue septa and strands.
