Meningioma

 

  • Benign tumor composed by oval or slightly spindle cells, which are arranged concentrically, like bulb.
  • Often, at the centre of these structures is found a hyalinized blood vessel or calcium salts. The latter are presented as round, laminar structures, colored in dark-blue-violet and are called psammoma bodies.
  • The tumor is rich in blood vessels. They show thick , hyalinized walls.
