The purpose of the diet for kidney stones is to alkalinize the body. Another important thing is to increase diuresis, to reach “washout effect” of gallstones while still very tiny and can pass freely through the urinary tract. For this reason it is recommended for daily ingestion 1.5 to 2 liters of spring or mineral water.

Allowed foods for kidney stones.

Milk and dairy foods are limited largely – 2-3 times a week or fresh yogurt, cottage, cheese, cream cheese, etc. desalinated.

Hot red pepper, chilies, mustard, horseradish, allspice, bay leaf.

All drinks as alcohol, soda, buttermilk and sour drinks.


Diet for gallstones:

For gallstones are recommended:

Vegetables oils – sunflower, olive, corn. To take more fruits and vegetables and to maintain regular bowel movements.

At the time of biliary crisis the patient should not eat by mouth, except in small quantities of liquids – water, fruit juices, syrup, tea. After termination patients are fed 1-2 days with chamomile tea, a decoction of rosehip, milk, syrup, puree. After a few days blending of mushy foods low in fat is allowed.

Banned foods for patients with gallstones are:

Cholesterol – rich foods: brain, egg yolk, animal fats, viscera. Excludes fried and processed foods, fatty meats, and dishes, sauces, carbonated and alcoholic drinks, chocolate, chocolate bonbons, ice cream, coffee, pulses (beans, lentils and peas) and pickles. Should not be allowed plenty acceptance of sweet foods and one – sided diet.
