  • The kidneys are cut at their lateral edge and are flapped over.
  • Their cortical surface is uneven, with small-retension cysts and extensive shallow depressions with grayish-brown base.
  • The pyelon and the calyces are broadened and distorted.
  • Concretions take the shape of the structure they are formed in- ‘cast’-like’ stones.
  • At some places, the atrophic process is particularly strong and remaines only a thin strip of parenchyma – hydronephrosis.
